Viral marketing is more common among small businesses who are mainly interested in getting recognition and don’t have big bucks to hire a professional person. This type of promotion is more likely to tempt people to purchase what you are offering, as it involves the use of various methods such as logos and advertisements.

Two ways of viral marketing can bring good results. You can go into a kind of partnership with another business, and join your knowledge, skills and resources. This way, both sides benefit.  

Another option is to have an affiliate program, in which others will promote your product for you, and they will get a certain share of the profits.

Using social networks can also do a great job in getting your website well known. By adding friends, you can get a large number of people to see what you are offering. Just be sure they are interested in your product…

Of course, one of the things to keep in mind where viral marketing is concerned, is to use it wisely. Don’t be too aggressive and don’t "bomb" your potential customers with too many promotions. Be friendly to your clients, and they will probably be friendly back…
